Majority of the scholars believe that alcohol is haraam and they say it is Najis. Drinking it in small or large quantity is absolutely haraam. But can we use ethanol i.e., pure alcohol to clean our hands in the form of gels, wipes and sanitizers?

Every Najis is haraam but not every haraam is najis. For example poison is haraam to ingest but it is not physically impure.
