When a person is a caregiver for a Muslim, is it required for the caregiver to be of the same gender? Is it permissible to have one of the opposite gender?
Yes, having a caregiver that is the opposite gender is permissible because of the need, whether it is a caregiver for physical or emotional needs. And there are examples from the Prophet's ﷺ time.
