We live in a world where video games are becoming overtly popular and part of many Muslim households. Playing these video games is daily lifestyle and routine for some Muslims. There are video game conventions, competitions and huge prize money can be earned from these games that contain gore, violence and nudity.
The Islamic ruling is that it is haraam to play these games on account of it leading to that which is sinful. It alters one's behaviour and lowers inhibition. It normalizes acts that are inhumane and not Islamic at all.
Parents should be firm in not allowing 11 year olds to play or view video games that have a rating of R-18+.
